Scientific name: Bettongia penicillata⠀

Brush-tailed Bettongs are small, nocturnal marsupials ranging from 28 – 45cm length and weighing up to approx. 1.8kg. ⠀
⠀
Although these cute little creatures once roamed the Mallee region, sadly Brush-tailed Bettongs are now extinct in Victoria and are only now restricted to three isolated populations in South West Western Australia. ⠀
⠀
Habitat: Tall eucalypt forests and woodlands, dense shrublands and Mallee heath.⠀
⠀
